Theory in Ecology and Evolution for a Changing World

Andy is teaching a new course next Fall! We’ll be gaining understanding of theories and models in ecology and evolution: how they work, what they predict, how to build them, and how to apply them to data from our changing world
("analog" simulation of the Neutral Theory of Biodiversity)
Format
- Watch short pre-recorded lectures before class
- In class time for hands-on challenges
- Work on a project with your own data, open data, or computer simulations
Requirements
- A laptop
- Familiarity with R helpful but not necessary
Modules
- Use the Rules of Life Engine model GUI to develop intuitive understanding of theories
- Use intuition to build coding and model development skills
- Explore real-world case studies
(simulating the Neutral Theory of Biodiversity in silico)
